My army buddies and the 2nd Outing

If you asked me, who are my closest buddies in camp? It would be them. This picture was taken the day after the first outing right before we book into camp at macdonald.

From top left Clockwise: Benny Tan(Me), Melvin Michael, Robin Jack are the band of brothers :)

Boon keong is also a nice guy, but he's not that close to us yet.

It's very hard to find friends whom you can click with. For example, the buddy i'm assigned to, are both of different worlds, its like, heaven and earth. How different.

We organised a 2nd outing this time round, on the 23rd of July.

Who were there?
From Section 1: Chin Chuan, Melvin Michael and me.

From Section 4: Matthew and Habib

Who else? Melvin Michael's Friend and my Girlfriend

A total of 7 people! Not including Robin Jack who was supposed to turn up later to meet us, but flew an aeroplane instead.

We met at lavender mrt station at 5.15pm because we needed to get to beach road to get some stuff for our upcoming field camp. It's a total of 7 days outfield in the forest which is next week!
I am gonna talk about that when i come back 2 weeks later, hopefully safe and sound.

The whole lot of us also took a group photo, but the battery went dead halfway, thanks to my girlfriend who claimed that she had charged it the day before, well, nevermind, it doesn't matter.

I don't have the camera with me now, i'll upload the picture once i get my hands on it, which will be again, 2 weeks later.

I'm kinda worried about the field camp, not sure what i'm going to expect there. Hope the buddies will keep a lookout for each other.

Let us all hope for the best. 3 entries in a day, and this entry seems to be a little shorter than usual, i'm feeling drowsy and tired, gonna have a short nap, and then prepare to book in at 7.45.

My Trip to the MO at Pulau Tekong

I was unleashed at 11.15am yesterday, and at the very moment the chartered bus arrived at Pasir Ris interchange at 11.55am, i scampered away to the directory to check out the latest polyclinic. I knew i had to get there fast, the polyclinic closes at 12.30pm sharp. I took a bus to Tampines Polyclinic and reached there at 12.20pm. Phew, close shave, saved money.

**FLASHBACK**

I fell sick, i had this terrible cough for 2 weeks already. Flu too. My sore throat came back too. Before this, i went to see the doctor at pulau tekong, and it totally sucks. Why? Room 5 Sucks. Because of this MO, his name is Kenneth.

Actually, i did not even want to visit the MO, i wanted to just hang on and go through with all the trainings, i did not want to miss any trainings. But i got a slight fever, so that's the final straw.

Anyway, here's the scenario.

Knock. Knock.
**Door Opens**
The MO looks up from his desk in his purple shirt and wierd hairstyle.

MO: Your Name and IC Number?
Me: blah blah blah
MO: Your cough or sore throat more serious?
Me: Both
MO: Cannot be both one, 1 must be more serious than the other
Me: Oh, cough then.
MO: Come, take a seat.
MO: Open your mouth
*He then proceeded to grab a L-Torch and glanced at my throat in less than 1 second*
*Proceeds to use a stethoscope to jab at my chest 2 times, i'm not sure if he can hear anything*
MO: Okay, i'll give you Att B 3 days, antibiotics, flu pills and cough mixture. If there's nothing else you can leave the room.

Me: ....

I was stunned there for a moment. Omg, and i left the room quietly.

It took less than 15 seconds.

YES, the procedure took less than 15 seconds!

I waited for 1 hour to register and get in the waiting line. There was like 8 people in front of me.

Okay, that's nothing.

After the 15 second experience, i waited for another 1 and a half hours to get my bloody medicine and status form.

Obviously, the medicine didn't work for me, my cough got worst. Had to suffer for 3 more days till i get back to Singapore for more medication. All the trainings i've missed out.. argh..

My Graduation Ceremony

It was my graduation ceremony on 15th of July. I booked out the night before at 8pm and had a nice sleep at home before waking up the next morning at 8am to prepare for my graduation.

I was surprised as my girlfriend is able to make it to the ceremony, because she actually had to work that day. Sadly, she fell sick, and therefore had the chance to get medical leave to be with me.

I was actually contemplating whether to still attend the graduation ceremony or not, because, it is pointless for me since no one else is gonna watch me. My dad and sister could not make it too.

I was relieved though.

I reached the school's auditorium at 9am sharp, as we had to report in 1 hour earlier before the graduation ceremony starts. Everyone seemed familiar, but yet so distant. It seemed like, everyone was getting along with their life very well, meeting new friends and all, forgetting about old friends, and moving on.

I met Mandy, we updated ourselves, and she did not register online for the seating too, so she was beside me all the way throughout the ceremony. It was dead bored, but my heart was thumping the moment before i go on stage. I was careful not to make a mistake, like shooting out my left hand and left leg at the same time, and walk the next step with the right hand and right leg.

Yes, psychomotor. I don't suffer from that, and never will! Learnt that term in the army when some people can't march properly and coordinate their body well.

Here's some blur pictures.

Me in Smart 4 before going on stage. Mandy's in front of me. I can't visualise myself being botak, and yet wearing formal attire.
So my decision is, if you're botak, wear the army uniform.

Me receiving the blank folder from dunno who's that guy. Had to pose for 2 cameras right in front of the stage, so gotta flash my pearlie yellowish whites! Yay!

Me and my girlfriend. She was late for like 10 minutes and i didn't manage to pass her the invitation passes. The ushers let her in nonetheless without any questions asked.
I feel that the picture is too dark, we were standing in the wrong direction, we should've faced where the sunlight was shining. Ah, its okay.

I've graduated officially! I'm an Alumni now!

About last week

I was too tired to post up an entry last week. Let's do this all together in 1 shot. I went out with my close NS buddies last Saturday. Robin, Melvin and Boon Keong. Han joined us shortly after. I didn't have a camera with me that day, although i wished i had, so i can capture all the fun we had.

We met up in Bugis with my girlfriend, and we proceeded to have dinner at the coffee shop just behind Bugis Junction. All of us had fish soup noodles except for Melvin who opted to have laksa. I didn't know the food tasted so good there, or i'm sick and tired of the food in Pulau Tekong.

Anyway, my girlfriend had to leave for her night shift work in SGH, and left the 3 of us to fool around. We were looking for a place to play pool in Bugis, it seems like many of the palours have shifted, and it took us quite a while to find the exact place. We ended up in Parklane Square near dhoby ghaut. We rushed the games because we wanted to play for just an hour. Han joined us at the pool salon, being the busy guy he was, he's probably just too tired to play with us, but sat there and chatted with us. Han had something on, so he left after half an hour. After pool, we proceeded to the next destination, a lan shop, there, we played for 1 and a half hours, playing warcraft and counterstrike where we immerse ourselves in the magics of wizardry and pump each other with bullets.

It was already 11.30 by the time we left the lan shop. Robin took a cab home, and Melvin and i rushed for the last train home.

This is a boring entry, should've brought a camera along to spice up this post. Yeah..
